How to make Pokemon immortal? Hint: name new species after it IRL

So, which Pokemon shall we bestow immortality upon?

I discovered 6 new ant species during field research in Fiji [IRL] and decided to name them after Pokemon. Why? Because we're developing an app for interacting with 3D specimen models in AR and most entomologists don't know what AR is until you mention PokemonGo.

I've already named ant species from New Guinea after Game of Thrones dragons: Pheidole drogon and Pheidole viserion. So yeah, this is really happening.

One thing about species names: they last forever. I guarantee you that whatever these ants are named will be remembered far after the last vestige of Pokemon lore has been forgotten. I'm not saying they will be household names. Far from it. But there will be a few myrmecologists like me 200 years from now that know these names.

So, which Pokemon shall we bestow immortality upon? If you want to make an informed decision based on what the species look like and where they were collected, check out the website. Otherwise, go with your gut and pick whichever Pokemon deserves immortality in the Realm of Ant Taxonomy.
